OUR APPROACH
ABOUT US
At Malatich Cochran Design, we believe your home should feel as effortless as it looks. Most people walk into a build or renovation feeling overwhelmed by decisions, schedules, and details that don’t quite connect. That’s where we come in.
We’re not here to push a look on you or chase trends that won’t last. We’re here to listen first, then translate your vision into a home that’s both architectural and artful. Our job is to be the bridge: between builder and client, between drawings and reality, between a house that’s technically finished and a home that feels complete.
OUR PROCESS
LAURIN FOCUSES ON THE DETAILS THAT stick:
The layouts, millwork, and finishes that become permanent parts of your house.

BETH LAYERS IN EVERYTHING THAT moves:
Furnishings, fabrics, lighting, art — the pieces that make your home feel personal and alive.
Supported by a team of designers, project managers, and procurement experts, we make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

THE RESULT?
A process that feels lighter for you, a build that moves smoothly for your contractor, and a home that feels unmistakably yours from the foundation to the
final accessory.
Because at the end of the day, our work isn’t just about creating beautiful houses. It’s about giving you a home that feels layered, intentional, and entirely your own

Grayson keeps the design details moving. From developing presentations to redlining drawings and tracking selections, she connects the dots between big-picture vision and daily progress. Her role is to keep your project on track so decisions flow smoothly. A Charleston native, Grayson developed a passion for architecture and design at an early age, tagging along with her mom to site meetings while building their family home. That formative experience laid the foundation for a career rooted in creativity, precision, and a deep appreciation for thoughtful, intentional design. Grayson is a graduate of Clemson University, where she earned a degree in Architecture. She brings years of experience in high-end residential design, both interior and architectural, allowing her to approach each project with a comprehensive and cohesive perspective. JENN
Project Manager
Jenn supports your project from start to finish, preparing room-by-room presentations, keeping finish packages up to date, and assisting on site. Her role is to make sure the details stay current and nothing slips through the cracks, so your home comes together just as intended. Originally from Southern Maryland, Jenn’s passion for design was sparked early on by her brother, who was studying architecture at SCAD. That inspiration led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from the University of Kentucky. Drawn to the charm and character of the Lowcountry, Jenn made Charleston her home after graduation. Since then, she has built a well-rounded background in interior design and managing a high-end home furnishings store—an experience that blends creativity, client focus, and a strong understanding of how form meets function in everyday spaces. Jenn enjoys creating warm, livable interiors that reflect each client’s personality and lifestyle. She brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach to every project—whether she's selecting finishes for a full house or styling the final layers of a space. With a keen eye for color, scale, and detail, she strives to design spaces that feel both timeless and comfortably lived in. When she’s not designing, Jenn enjoys reading a good book, long walks on the Ravenel Bridge, and beach outings with her dog.

Rhiannon
Design Procurement Manager
Rhiannon is the guardian of your orders. She places every purchase, tracks shipments, inspects deliveries, and manages claims so that what you see in a presentation is what arrives on install day. Her role is to protect your investment and timeline by keeping all the moving parts in order. A New York native, Rhiannon developed a passion for art, architecture, and culture at a young age through frequent visits to New York City and its world-renowned museums. Many of these visits to the big city were accompanied by her grandfather, an advertising creative and college instructor, whom she credits for her early appreciation of mid-century furniture and high design. This formative exposure led her to pursue a creative path, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Charleston. As a Designer and Procurement Manager for MCD, she brings with her over 15 years of experience in the high-end home furnishings industry, with expert knowledge in business management, lighting, and textiles. Her deep understanding of design is matched by her commitment to education—she has served as an instructor at the Charleston School of Interior Design, teaching courses in AutoCAD, Furniture History, and Textiles. When she’s not immersed in design, Rhiannon enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, cooking, trying new restaurants, and making memories with her son and Labrador.
